SANDUSKY

City officials want the public to help solve a string of recent shootings.

Sandusky will provide a $2,000 reward to anyone who can provide information leading to an arrest and conviction involving five separate incidents on Hancock, Reese and First streets, as well as North Larchmont Drive.

Offering a reward can often to lead to valuable tips, acting Sandusky police Chief Charlie Sams said.

A group of "concerned citizens," who wish to remain anonymous, will provide the reward money, city commissioner Julie Farrar said.

Exxcellent

So do you have to solve all five crimes before you get the 2k? To be able to do that, one would almost have to be involved.

I'd tell you for free if we could get control of the uneducated, unemployed, and unwanted members of our community.

Where is the city getting $2,000 for a reward?

Hey I can tell yea that if I knew who the morons was , and i knew them bums wouldnt get out and that they would get the needle , And i could give it tothem , I would tell yea in a minute .

Its about time that we take our streets back , and I can tell it hurts when these bums do this and then end up walking cause of something that someone might have done, or the courts couldnt stop it

The Sandusky Police can only do what they can to try and find the idiots . And i hope that when they do find them , the same thing that happened in Fremont will happen to them , then the  it will wake these bums up an let them know that this IS NOT DETROIT , OR L.A , We will catch you and you will be taken care of once and for all

Amen 44870!  I agree 100%

Only $2,000 for arrest and CONVICTION? Arrrest is easy. Conviction is the hard part. No conviction, no reward. Those who know get $2000 a month in government funds such as metro, food stamps, medical and other freebies will not snitch. What about all those peole who were witnesses but saw nothing and ain't talking? Do you think an anonymous person will risk being identified?

I say, the LE should take a page out of the LE book in California....Certain cities, that are SERIOUS about protecting their citizens, have ID'd  gang members...They passed an ordinance in which NO ONE GANG MEMBER IS ALLOWED TO BE SEEN ANYWHERE WITH ANOTHER KNOWN GANG MEMBER....It has been a standing ordinance for at LEAST 4 years!  Withstood the courts... Beside that, they patrol KNOWN gang activity areas, and will actually GET OUT OF THEIR CARS, to find out what is going on, if more than 2-3 people are standing around at the early A.M. hours...or ANYTIME there is SUSPICIOUS activity in the area...

The city of 250,000 people is, for the MOST PART, SAFE!  SAFE enough to walk to the store or drug store or whatever, at 1 or 2 in the A.M. !!!

I can't see why it can't be done here, or in Mansfield, where the cities are MUCH smaller, and the gangs not quite as "entrenched"!!!

WHY NOT?!

Oh, I must apologize for "defaming" corrupt city officials, shooters, thugs, crackheads & stupid 4:30 a.m joggers. Shame on me for speaking, (gasp), the truth again!

So much for the tips. One cannot be polically correct when a crime in involved. How can police ask for help if the description of the person is not correct? A person commits a crime. What does the person look like. A human being? Ever notice how many times the racial description of a person is excluded of a crime suspect?  So much for turning in tips to police to solve crimes. Maybe the perps were green in color?

Its a sign of the times. NO RESPECT,NO REMORSE, NO FEAR. It is time that people lookout for their own and the people in their community. Call the police each and every time there is a disturbance i.e. 30 people loitering around where you live. You have to stay proactive not reactive and the scum of this city will move on to someplace else. If everyone just did that consistantly there would be no safe place for these scum to hide.
