UPDATE 10:55 a.m. — Water service has been restored to the village.

There is a boil advisory in effect until 1 p.m. Saturday for all residents.

ORIGINAL POST 12:19 a.m. — Water service to the entire village of Bay View has been shut off due to a water main break Thursday evening. Once water service has been turned back on,  a 24-hour boil advisory will go into effect.

A boil advisory means water can be used for showers, baths and flushing toilets but should not be consumed unless it is boiled first. Brushing your teeth with water that has not been boiled is not recommended.

If you have any questions or concerns, call the Erie County Water Division at 419-627-7666.
