A Vermilion man died Thursday in a three-vehicle crash in Lorain County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Dale Welty, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Injured were Christopher Dewitt, 20, of Elyria; Nicholas Kidd, 25, of New London; and Brandon Danicki, 17, of Amherst.

Dewitt was driving a Ford F-350 pickup south on Baumhart Road when at about 5:30 p.m. the truck swerved across the center line and swiped the back of an oncoming 2001 Pontiac Grand Am, driven by Danicki.

The pickup then struck head-on a 1994 Honda Civic driven by Welty. On impact the truck overturned and struck a guardrail, troopers said.

Kidd, a passenger in Dewitt’s truck, sustained minor injuries and refused medical treatment. Dewitt was flown by medical helicopter to Cleveland MetroHealth Medical Center. Danicki sustained no visible injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

so sorry to the families involved. Am I allowed to say ANOTHER "across the center line" accident? Why don't people pay attention to their driving. Another innocent person killed.
