Kristi Ely, 28, and Allison Gerhardsein, 7, were riding on an ATV near County Road 177, about half a mile east of Ohio 101 in Green Creek Township, when Ely lost control of the vehicle in a field and the ATV overturned, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Fremont post.

Ely and Allison were thrown from the ATV. Neither was wearing a helmet. The crash happened at about 8:45 p.m.

Both sustained serious injuries and were flown by medical helicopter to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. Their medical conditions were not available Monday morning, but both remained there as patients, a hospital spokeswoman said.

I have no idea why I read these things , Its a shame this happened , and really sometimes it dont matter if you are wairing a helmet or not , you still can get hurt really bad, the only thing is it may help if they are wearing the helmet if they land on their head . but most accidents they land on other parts of the body that arent protected and may be worse because they can have internal injuries that can kill faster

Wear a helmet or at least put one on your child. They shouldn't have to suffer because of your stupidity.
