Monroe & Tyler Streets don't intersect. Perhaps you meant that Central Ave. was closed at the intersections of BOTH Monroe & Tyler Streets? Of course, I could be confused given that the photos of the house are upside down... I get that this is breaking news. I get that you're in a hurry. But SERIOUSLY???

hey it was upside down to me as well , and I just closed it out and reopened it . and it was fine

I knew what he meant (obviously). It's just that he didn't SAY what he meant. This is a newspaper. Although mistakes will be made, especially where fast-breaking stories are concerned, that doesn't mean they SHOULD be made, nor that they should stand when they are.

Amy is the shelter manager at the Humane Society of Erie County and it was her home and two dogs that died in the fire... via the Humane Society Facebook page... Someone has set up an account at First Federal Bank of Ohio on Milan Rd/250 in front of Walmart for anyone who would like to help. Amy is a single mother and it appears that she has lost everything in the fire. Please understand if our staff is a little down today as we are like family here and when one of us hurts, all of us hurt. Please keep Amy and her young son in your thoughts.

Oh, no, poor Amy! My heart sank when I saw that it was her house. Her doggies were so sweet, too. Really sad. Im glad she and her little boy are ok.

Prayers sent, Amy. I know what it's like to lose all. Have faith in others and move on, very sweetly and in a charmed way.

I'm so sorry to hear about a fire like this, but it's somehow even worse when it's somebody like Amy! She works her butt off helping others...

If she lost just about everything, then it sounds like she NEEDS just about everything. I have a number of things I was getting ready to donate, and would be happy for Amy to have them instead (nothing ruined or terribly worn, just things I have duplicates of or don't use, from clothing to kitchen things, including a virtually brand new set of china). Please post here and let us know how/where we can help!
