National Library Week has begun and libraries in Sandusky and Huron are busy celebrating.

On Monday, Sandusky Library celebrates Customer Appreciation Day with giveaways and treats. The library will offer patrons Starbucks coffee, library bags, candy and other goodies, and used books and items in the gift shop will be on sale.

Also Monday, the library begins allowing patrons to borrow new iPads for use inside the library building. At 10:30 a.m. Friday, the library unveils its new Baby Garden, a play area for the smallest kids in the library's children's area.

Huron Public Library is offering food for fines. Bring in one nonperishable food item, and fines for one library item will be forgiven. Bring in more food items, and more items will have their fines forgiven.

Borrow five or more books, DVDs or CDs this week from Huron's library, and the patron will be offered either a Huron Public Library bag or a handcrafted bookmark from the YarnWorks group.
