U.S. 224 closed near Willard

A burst culvert pipe is to blame, detours set up.

Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol spotted the sinkhole and closed the road early this morning. The road in New Haven Township is closed indefinitely, as a culvert that runs along the roadway and CSX Railway failed.

A release from the Ohio Department of Transportation includes the following...

Willard (Thursday, April 11, 2013) – US Route 224, between SR 99 and SR 598 just east of the city of Willard, will be closed for approximately eight days for an unplanned drainage repair.
 
The detour for this area SR 598 north to SR 103; SR 103 west to SR 99; SR 99 south to US 224 and reverse for eastbound motorists.
