One of this week's notes, from Immaculate Conception School:

Jane Drusbacky's fifth-graders had a delicious lesson in science at Immaculate Conception School last Monday. Students built edible models of the sun using giant sugar cookies, with frosting, sprinkles, licorice and chocolate chips representing its layers, sunspots and solar flares. They ate their "suns" after answering questions about the models.

Immaculate Conception School's shadowing days are April 8 through 11. For more information, call 419-734-3315.
