Expanding Medicade is not nearly enough. We have to have Medicare for all. Otherwise, our health care system will bankrupt the country.

goofus

Medicade? Is this like koolade!

John Harville

Goofass!

About a year ago, my wife said "Conservatives battled Medicare when it was first introduced. Then a funny thing happened. Within a few years, everyone realized the Medicare was a pretty good idea, and the complaints stopped." We both think that within 5-10 years, it will be so obvious that Obamacare was the right thing to do, both ethically and economically, and that all the gloom and doom foisted on us by the GOP was a lot of baloney, that 99% of the griping will have subsided. It's obvious that Kasich and several other Republican governors have already decided that the Affordable Care Act IS a good thing,

I agree with AJ Oliver. After reading the exposé on the health industry in TIME magazine (which should be required reading for all), it's clear that the path towards making health care more cost-effective and less expensive for Americans is through the exact path that Obama first presented in his health care plan: the single payer option.

The other option would be to listen to someone like Michelle Bachmann, who thinks that guns don't kill, but Obama's health care plan will. Stunningly idiotic, she is...

deertracker

Totally agree!

There you go again

Do you really think TIME magazine gave an unbiased analysis of Obamacare? Stunningly idiotic, don't you think?!.! Those were your words....

JACKEL

I don't think that will be true, because many companies are choosing the penalties and dropping employee coverage.the penalty is around a thousand per person and health ins is out of site !You obviously are not an Insurance Agent.I am more concerned of his present Muslim Alliance in his cabinet, which is six now and the idiots in this country that elected him .The biggest problem will be doctor shortage, many are retiring early.if you saw what Medicare pays them now, and what it will pay after cuts,it's a disgrace as he is.

The Big Dog's back

So, we should fund Medicare more and not less right?

Kimo

Medicare for all as long as they charge by the pound.

For three years, we have heard nothing but all the sweet stuff about obamacare. Get ready people, especially the younger generation, insurance premiums are going up in 2014.

The Big Dog's back

Where have you been the last 30 years when insurance premiums sky rocketed?

goofus

The real world porch puppy, not like living in mom's basement and under schip like yourself!!!

Just wait till 2014 big pup.

John Harville

Swiss... ignore Goofass. 30 years ago it was going to cost us $2500/year to cover a family with private insurance. Now it would be $10,000 or more.
InsuranceGuy on here is just concerned because the Exchanges will require him to adjust rates and insure everyone who applies - less profit for him.
Some of us even remember when the life insurance salesman came to the house each week to collect quarters for insurance on each person.

doc5798a

Damn swiss cheese kat, have you been living under a rock! Those premiums been skyrocketing long before anyone ever heard of Obamacare.

Maggdi

Wasn't the 'curve' suppose to be bent so the skyrocketing costs weren't going to still be happening?....

swiss cheese kat's picture
swiss cheese kat

Yeah and obamacare was supposed to bring down costs. Just wait for 2014.

The Big Dog's back

It did and it will.

John Harville

SWISS... no need to wait. Already here. Our medical insurance decreased by 20% just at the mention of Obamacare - because now the insurance companies have to compete for business.
Just because you don't have the smarts....

Maggdi

Show of hands!... how many of the mandate supporters here assure payroll checks?

The Big Dog's back

What's that have to do with anything? If these "payroll checker insurers" weren't making good money then they would get out of business.

goofus

Huh?? Porch Puppy, you need to write in the style of AJ Oliver, brain dead.

Maggdi

When you sign a check it is considered a good faith assurance that the check is good. And so it is with employers. I was just curious how many of this mandates supporters on these forums have had the pleasure of dealing with government regulations, mandates, employees issues, etc. and made payroll?

The Big Dog's back

Did they choose to run a business? If so, why? Not everyone wants to own a business, for whatever reason. We all live with Gov regulations and mandates, pay bills, manage a household.

goofus

Except basement dwellers

Maggdi

"Not everyone wants to own a business, for whatever reason."
Maybe for a lot of people the onus of regulations, mandates and reporting is their reason?
Maybe that's why 1 in 4 Doctors surveyed say they will retire early because of those same reasons?

The Big Dog's back

So we should drop regulations and mandates, etc., for 20% of the population? Gee, that's about the same number of right wingers in the country. Any correlation?

Maggdi

It too late for that BD. The dye is caste and we get to find out who was right.
Progressives and their tax, regulate and mandate our way to prosperity or the villainous conservatives with their idiotic warnings about the government getting way too big and choking incentives for entrepreneurship.
But that's OK, right BD? The fewer of those 'rich' SOB's out there the better for everyone.

The Big Dog's back

I'm not sure why you put the rich on a pedestal.
