Outback Steakhouse, 4920 Milan Road, will open its doors from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday for fund-raising event to benefit Cancer Services, which helps people in Erie and Huron counties.

The cost is $20. Diners will  have a choice of the Outback special or seasoned grilled salmon, fresh steamed broccoli or roasted garlic mashed potatoes, blue cheese chopped house salad, roll, non-alcoholic beverage, and New York style cheesecake. There will also be door prizes and a raffle.

And where does you lunch money go? It helps people who are battling cancer,  Peg Miller, executive director of the agency, explains in an email.

"We rely on donations and events like this one to provide assistance to those devastated with a cancer diagnosis.  Some of these services are as follows:  financial assistance for cancer-related medications, nutritional supplements, such as Boost and Ensure, transportation assistance to patients medical appointments, wigs, hats, medical equipment and more, free of charge," Miller wrote.

"Community support is greatly needed because every day new clients come to us, sometimes in life and death situations," she wrote.
