Thumbs UP to Clyde City Manager Dan Weaver -- not for retiring, but for being the front man and, apparently, the detail man for Clyde's unstinting efforts to better itself, in any big or small way it could think of. Giving almost six months' notice -- well, it's a classy end to a class act.

Thumbs DOWN to ending Saturday mail delivery, if it happens. We recognize it's a business necessity as costs of transporting pieces of paper mount, and more and more people communicate and do business electronically, but it's sad to see a line of communication cut off. Budget is doing what "neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow ... " could do.
