According to troopers investigating the crash, Kevin L. Shanks, 53, of Tiffin, was driving a 2008 Toyota Prius west on County Road 6 at 4:45 p.m. when he failed to yield at a stop sign and was struck by a 1999 Peterbilt semi-truck driven south on Ohio 53 by Keith Doliboa, 61, of Eaton.
The Prius went off the west edge of the road and struck a tree and a sign. The truck came to a rest in the roadway.
Doliboa and his passenger, Donna Back, 48, of Camden, were not injured in the crash. Both were wearing seat belts.
Shanks died from his injuries at the scene. He was also wearing a seat belt.
The crash remains under investigation.
