A North Fairfield couple died and two other people were injured in a two-vehicle crash that shut down Ohio 162 west of New London Saturday afternoon.
Rodney Williams, 69, and Betty Williams, 66, were pronounced dead at the scene of the 2:18 p.m. crash near Town Line Road, according to a news release from the Mansfield post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Rodney Williams was a front seat passenger and Betty Williams was a backseat passenger in a pickup driven by Karlie Conaway, 15, of Greenwich, when she lost control and went left of center into the path of an oncoming vehicle.
Conaway’s westbound 2000 Dodge Dakota collided with a second pickup, a 1998 Ford Ranger driven by Troy Green, 40, of New London, who was driving east.
All four occupants were trapped when the New London Fire Department arrived to extricate them from the pickups.
Conaway and Green both suffered serious injuries and were taken to Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk for treatment.
Rodney Williams, Conaway and Green were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Betty Williams was not.
No charges have been filed.
There was no indication of any alcohol or drug use that could have contributed to the cause of the crash.
Conaway is a student at South Central High School.

The difference is, I wouldn't be on here perusing the comments to see what people are saying about my family. I am certain that most of my time would be used comforting and helping my family, NOT typing away in the Register comments section.

Yeah, which is why I called them yesterday and canceled my subscription to both the Reflector and the Register. On the flip side, the morning journal just got my business. It is comical that they will remove my posts, which contained no threats, because some disagree with my assessment about letting a teen drive in bad weather. But some punk kid (Handyman27) posts several threats against me on here and nearly all of them are still up, despite being reported as offensive. Goes to show ya, the mods on here latch on to people who they disagree with amd make their experience less than desireable. Oh well, time to change the username again.

I admit my comments can at times be acerbic and quite mordacious, especially when responding to similar type comments.

The article isnt a memorial to the people who lost their life. If you have a problem with debating something in a public forum, maybe you shouldn't be reading it. Why don't you take your own advice and "don't say anything at all?"
