Ohio judge weighs whether to keep rape trial open

An attorney for one of two Ohio high school football players charged with raping a 16-year-old girl has withdrawn his motion to close the trial.

The attorney didn't explain why Friday during a hearing in Steubenville. He previously raised concerns that an open trial could lead to potential witnesses on the defendant's behalf being intimidated.

The move means there's currently no motion to close the trial, though the girl's attorney said he'd be willing to make a similar motion.

Meanwhile, attorneys for The Associated Press and other media presented arguments supporting an open trial to ensure public confidence in the proceedings.

The judge said he'd consider their statements but wouldn't rule Friday.

The athletes are accused of attacking the West Virginia girl after an alcohol-fueled party in August.

I bet some heads would spin in Erie County if "Anonymous" started looking into the rape of a former grand jury witness, Krista Harris. Yes, allegations were made by Ms. Harris that she was forced into a non-consensual sexual relationship by the Erie County Prosecutor, Kevin Baxter.

And if I'm not mistaken, I believe the allegations were that Ms. Harris stated one of the rapes occured at the residence of Mr. Baxter. Interestingly, there are similiar allegations that the 16 year old rape victim identified in this article was allegedly raped at the home of the Jefferson County Prosecutor, Jane Hamlin.

They say that Steubenville Justice is Rotten to the Core! Well, I say that the Justice in Erie County, Ohio is even worse!

We know that Krista Harris was set up and prosecuted on multiple sham counts of theft in violation of Ohio Revised Code Section 2913.61(C)(1). Sadly, Ms. Harris was forced to endure two sham trials due corruption within the Medina and Erie County Prosecutors' Offices.

Furthermore, a federal magistrate, Judge Vernelis Armstrong, was convinced that Kevin Baxter, did in-fact have a sexual relationship with Krista Harris during the investigation and prosecution of Dewitt McDonald's murder trial.

That is why she recommended that McDonald be given a new trial!

I too think Baxter is rotten to the core!

There is corruption in every state, every county, every parish, every city, every town. Good luck eliminating it.

"Anonymous" said it best, "the only way evil can survive is for good people to nothing."

Everyone knows that Kevin Baxter should have been prosecuted for the crimes that he has committed in office. Now, his own buddy, Dean Holman is under state investigation as well as members of the "Bar" in Medina county for allegedly tampering with court records among other "crimes".
