Allen-Clay firefighters removed Evelyn Earhart, 31, of Clyde, from her vehicle. She was then flown by medical helicopter to the University of Toledo Medical College with serious injuries.

Paramedics took Robert and Rose Fay, both 67, of Bellevue, to Mercy St. Charles hospital in Oregon. Both suffered minor injuries and were treated and released.

Earhart’s 1997 Ford Taurus was headed northwest on Ohio 51 at about noon when it veered left of center and plowed into the Fay’s oncoming 2009 Chrysler Town and Country van.

Both vehicles sustained heavy front-end damage but stayed on the road.

Troopers said Earhart was the only one not wearing her seat belt and alcohol wasn’t a factor in the crash. Citations haven’t been issued and the crash remained under investigation.
Earhart was listed in fair condition late Thursday.
