SANDUSKY

The Register seeks nominations for its annual Register Awards, which recognize area residents who have made selfless, voluntary contributions to their communities.

Since 1962, the newspaper has presented 145 awards to a variety of people.

The winners receive a plaque and will have $200 donated in their names to the charity of their choice.

Last year’s winners were Thomas Kazmierczak III, executive director of the Sandusky State Theatre; Earl and Bea Rosen, who direct the Helping Hearts Ministry at Zion Lutheran Church; and Ed and Linda Noftz, who are foster parents from Clyde.

To nominate someone, send a letter or e-mail explaining what the person or persons have done to make a difference.

You may also submit a photo if one is available. Include your name and contact information and a self-addressed, stamped envelope if sending photos.

Send to the Sandusky Register, 314 W. Market St., Sandusky, 44870, attention Annie Zelm, or e-mail zelm@sanduskyregister.com. Nominations are due by 5 p.m. Monday.

nusse is gonna win for doin nothin

William Jeffers...

I nominate John Hamilton. He is a selfless humanitarian driven only by common sense actions in his philanthropic and altruistic desires to rid the city of anything dangerous, wasteful and unholy. He too was persecuted by officials while simply trying to provide our children a safe place to play. It's a very Christ like story.

Merry Christmas John. You are a winner in the people's minds no matter what the SR decides.

Obama... he is a winner.

hancrack me up

I'd like to humbly thank everyone in advance for this prestigious award. My past 4 years of posting have brought reality & truth to a corrupt, conniving & ignorant little town & it's wannabe Perkinstucky burb. I shall continue to point out backwards thinkers, scammers, idiotic postings/ers, wing nuts, mini minds & a 1956 mentality so many in this area flaunt. Thank You.
