SANDUSKY

It started with a $5 bid from Richard Koonce to become the owner of three vacant school buildings.

Now Koonce is asking members of the community to step up and contribute $5 each month to support the Nehemiah Community Learning and Outreach Center planned for the Campbell and Madison buildings.

"Our grassroots campaign is based on that $5 that God allowed me to go into Madison School and bid for three buildings," said Koonce, a professor and school board member-elect.
