Erie County Board of Developmental Disabilities Superintendent Gerald Plassenthal submitted his resignation to the agency’s board members.
The five disabilities board members who were present voted unanimously to accept Plassenthal’s resignation. He’ll finish his term, which ends in March, and then retire.
Plassenthal, hired as superintendent at the agency in 2004, had come under fire in recent months by dozens of employees who accused him of intimidation, threats and fostering a hostile work environment.
