What a shame! One of my true joys when returning to my hometown is to visit Washington Park. The village administrator of my current home is Wally Thiel. As a previous Sandusky city employee he would be shocked. On Nov. 4-5, 2009, the clock planting did not display the date. WOW! As I strolled through the park with my sister, Connie Grimani, a brightly painted lighthouse caught my eye. She explained that these were the work of local artists and were put up for auction as a fund raiser. The particular lighthouse sponsored by Cedar Point has a compass type crown. My observation is that the compass rose is labeled incorrectly. Sanduskians, take a look at "North" on this lighthouse and then look for "West." This park is the envy of every city parks planner. Please keep it correctly labeled -- clock and compasses. Perhaps Cedar Point should look before they bid!
