Officials have arrested three suspects thought to be responsible for breaking into the safes at the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion halls in Vermilion Township.

Frederick Sharpless Jr., 28, Lorain, Kenneth "Rick" Messer, 44, Elyria, and Kiara Shirring, 24, Elyria, are all suspects in thefts in Lorain County as well, according to court documents.

Messer has been booked into jail, with a bond of $45,000. Shirring has been released on a court order, and Sharpless has also been released.
