According to Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers, Steve Stocker, 50, of Norwalk, was traveling west on U.S. 20 at 8:55 a.m. in a 2012 Dodge Ram truck.

At the same time, Lucas Ryan, 28, of Islip, N.Y., was traveling south on Ohio 51 in a 2007 Volvo S60. At the intersection with U.S. 20, Ryan failed to yield at a stop sign and traveled into the path of Stocker's truck.

The truck struck the Volvo's driver's side door sending the car south off the road. It struck a traffic sign before coming to a rest in a field. The truck spun and came to rest in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 20.

Ryan suffered serious injures and was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo by medical helicopter. He is in critical condition.

Stocker was taken by ambulance to Fremont Memorial Hospital. He is in fair condition.

The crash remains under investigation and citations are pending.
