Twin mothers in Ohio give birth the same day

Aiden and Donavyn didn't wait until New Year's Day to come screaming into the world, but the circumstances of their births are still pretty special: The babies were born about two hours apart to Ohio mothers who are identical twins.

The Akron Beacon Journal (http://bit.ly/YQpn3X ) reports that the 19-year-old mothers — Aimee and Ashlee Nelson weren't raised to do things alike and did not plan the births to come at the same time. In fact, their due dates were about a week apart.

But Donavyn Scott Bratten was born just after noon on the last day of 2012. Aiden Lee Alan Dilts made his appearance at about 2 p.m.

They were delivered by the same doctor at Summa Akron City Hospital.

Why does it matter if they are married?

rickross2

Because thats how its supposed to work. I guess it really doesnt matter. This world has given up on all the morals put in place by my grandparents and their parents and grandparents. We have given up on the Bible and the constitution. We are on a slippery slope. My only hope is a mass genocide and somehow I can make the cut to stick around. Bet 10 these girls live at home and will collect assistance.

donutshopguy

luvblues2,

You are correct it doesn't matter if they are married. Now, if the babies are being supported by my government dollars that's another story.

When does someone's right to breed become my responsibility to feed?

rickross2

It does a little bit. MTV with their Teen Mom bullcrap is ruining the way our youth thinks. Some things just shouldnt change. Its not always a money thing there homeslice. Sometimes its about morals and who has them and who doesnt. I gots me some though.

starryeyes83

Most unwed mothers are having kids on our dime, donut. The stats are staggering... they see all these idiot celebrities do it and emulate them. And use the tax payers as a cash cow.

luvblues2

The babies have their father's last name. I'm guessing it's the dad's dime and not your's, donut.

starryeyes83

We can only hope.

rickross2

Yea because signing a birth certificate means they are good dads that will step up. I would say 90% of the deadbeat dads share their last name with their children.

NurseRatchet

As a mother, one can give her baby any last name she wishes, without the consent of the father. Just because the babies supposedly have their fathers' surnames does not mean the fathers are supporting them or will continue to do so.

Matt Westerhold loves Obama and his handouts. He will not open up a comment section where people can tell the truth on his fellow sheep.

donutshopguy

Thoughts that why the comment section closed so fast on the local births. Dead beat dads and generational entitlement.

You can have one oops but after the second oops the entitlement money gets cut with each new birth. Bet the birth rate in Sandusky drops with that type of oversight.

Again, why does your right to breed become my responsibility to feed?

starryeyes83

Bellevue had an unwed mother about 19 or 20 give birth to twins for New years .. with no father in sight according to the story.

luvblues2

I'll bet those twins have four foot diameter, inch and a half thick, round heads and a hole in the top of their heads to place a sunshine blocking umbrella.

starryeyes83

Nah, but it's pretty sad when there's no father holding one baby but the doctor is.

And I have to concur with those that said the rest of us are probably footing the bill... the new mentality is "hey babies are cash machine".

kURTje

Happy New Year. Not for some boo-ga!!!

Congratulations Mommies!

I get what Rickross and Donutshopguy are saying, but at the same time, I think you're both being a little too judgmental. I was a mom at 19. I however was married. Divorced at 21, my ex stopped providing for my child. I worked but it wasn't enough to support my child the way I saw fit. And I worked full time, working my butt off. I ended up having to go on assistance. But I was not on it bc it's "free money", and I was working. I was paying my taxes, paying my dues. I was only on it for a year and a half. I think I did pretty well, I wasn't about to be a negative statistic. I was on it until I no longer needed it, I never wanted it. That's the problem with the entitlement generation. They want it. Or they want to need it. So they do keep having more kids.

Why is it, that you have to have a license for many jobs, driving, boating, pretty much anything, except having a baby?

Sorry I know off track, but I've always wondered that...

donutshopguy

asweetnessabove,

Not judgmental about an "oops". Judgmental about a history of "oops" through generations.

starryeyes83

Good for you sweetness.... you rose above it. Although, I have had to work around quite a few who were bragging about all the "free stuff" they were getting while they were working and they stayed single and kept having more kids.

They had no problem abusing the system , The one girl I had enough information on to report her. She was not a friend - but a person I had no choice but to work with. The other two I didn't have enough on to report.

Just because the the baby has the last name doesn't mean they support them just means they knew who the father is and Dad wants the kid to have their last name. My grandson has his dads last name and his dad is 13,000 behind in child support and my grandson is 4. My daughter has raised him on her own with little assistance and making minimum wage.

kURTje

D.nut you got DD-214?

KnuckleDragger

What the heck does having a DD-214 have to do with his comments on this article? I have mine, that says I retired. I made the same comment as donut but it was removed. What donut says is true, we are all sick of paying for the birth and support of babies born to mothers who don't contribute to society and fathers who do nothing but run around town and impregnate as many women as they can, like a bunch of monkeys in heat. It irritates me to listen to these boys (not real men) walk around bragging about how many kids they have sired.

donutshopguy

This problem is not a racial issue. It's a problem with responsibility. It's a problem with our government not controlling the birthing for additional entitlement mindset. This use of having babies to increase entitlement has been going on for generations.

Again, I know there are situations of "oops". But, when additional "oops" are rewarded by additional government entitlement funding it has become a lifestyle.

I'm not suggesting cutting all funds to support these children. But, I am suggesting reducing those funds if you continue to breed children for income. Each additional child after the first reduces the funding a specific percentage until the funding ends.

When did your right to breed become my responsibility to feed.

kURTje

Wasn't talking to you.
