Where is your first car? Chances are your first car is somewhere in a junk yard rusting away. Or, maybe your first car can be seen in a "vintage car" display at a local festival. Why is it you are not still driving your first car you so loved and cherished? It got you everywhere you wanted to go! But, it did not last more than a few years. Well, don't we have the same attitude with our schools ... they will last forever? I have heard people respond, "it was a good enough place for me to get an education."

Just think, are you driving a car the same age when the Port Clinton Junior High was constructed? To expect the students of today to still be educated in the same "car" used 80 years ago is not realistic. Many of today's cars have electric locks, computerized engines, air bags, anti-lock brakes that were not available in your first car because of advancements in technology. Many technology changes have developed over the years, but we still educate using the vintage car.

Voters, YOU are in the driver's seat on or before Nov. 3. Please vote yes for our Port Clinton schools by voting yes on issue 17.
