Thumbs DOWN to online scammers, of which the latest is the poaching of online house-for-sale ads by lowlifes hoping to scam "security deposits" from hopeful renters who find out the "landlord" isn't the landlord and the house isn't for rent anyway. As for their suckers -- oh, come on, scams have been around for too long and have gotten too much publicity for us to call them "victims" -- if it sounds too good to be true or the information isn't there to let you verify it, walk away.

Thumbs UP to the 32 people who became citizens last week during naturalization ceremonies at Sandusky High School. They had all kinds of reasons, most of them practical, for wanting U.S. citizenship, but we wonder if the folks who had to work for it might teach those of us born to it, a little about the responsibilities and joys of citizenship.
