Did I miss something? Two years ago a feasibility study was done by RS&H of Ohio for the Erie County Commissioners about the proposed airport.

They never did select a site but the proposal said the estimated cost for a general aviation airport would be $56 million -- $46 million from the FAA, $10 million from taxpayers. To serve the needs of NASA it would be $88 million -- 77 million from the FAA, 11 million from the taxpayers.

If the $60 million TIGER grant comes through that leaves $28 million difference who pays for that?

Erie County is cutting another 10 percent from its budget. Do you really think we could afford the airport? If we take Erie County out of the scenario and NASA really wants the airport, the federal government will build it. You won't have to worry about whether the FAA will go along with it. National security has preference over everyone.

By the time this project gets off the ground it will be obsolete. I was pro-arport four years ago but nothing has happened.
