I feel very fortunate to be a first-grade teacher at Monroeville Elementary School. The community support is evident through the number of volunteers seen in our building during various activities. It is obvious to me many people care about our school system.

I would like to ask for your continued support of our school through the upcoming levy. I know times are financially difficult. That is one of the benefits of the proposed levy -- it is based on earned income. It is forgiving to those who struggle with layoffs or job loss from the struggling economy.

The faculty and staff of Monroeville are committed to providing the highest quality of education possible to our students. That is evident through the number of staff memebers here before or after school hours creating new technology lessons, meeting to discuss ways to meet each student's needs and looking for ways to continuously improve our school.

I know this is a tough decision. I had to make the same decision for the school district I live in. I chose to support the local school even though my children don't attend there because I believe in investing in my future. Today's students are my future. They are your future too.

As a teacher, I found my students do their best work after they realize I believe in them. Please show the students and staff at Monroeville Schools you believe in us by voting for the levy in November.
