BELLEVUE

If Day No. 1 was any indication, the mediation hearings of Bellevue Schools assistant to the superintendent Darrell Hykes are going to be a contentious battle.

Hykes, who was placed on unpaid suspension in mid-July along with superintendent Bud Martin, is fighting to keep his job after being accused of creating a sexually hostile workplace, sexual harassment and violating the school district’s professional code of conduct.
