Hilliard woman killed in Grafton Twp. crash

A Hilliard woman died Tuesday morning after she crashed with a semi truck on Ohio 83 in Grafton Township.

Kimberly A. Blackley, 37, was driving south on Ohio 83 in a 2012 Honda Accord when she went left of center for an unknown reason and was struck by an oncoming 2012 Freightliner semi at about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Blackley was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lorain County Coroner's office. The driver of the semi, Christopher M. Raatz, 52, of Louisville, Ky., was treated for minor injuries at Medina Hospital.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, and both vehicles sustained heavy damage and had to be towed from the scene.

The crash remains under investigation, according to troopers.

Peace be with her family! A terrible thing to happen so close to Christmas. I know from experience how these things affect all family members for all future when they happen close to a holiday! Please everyone drive safe these holidays and please do not drink and drive, watch out on the road and do not take your right away just because you have it, someone else many be distracted!
