PERKINS TWP.

Dropout Chaz Knerr found hisĀ  lack of a high school diploma was hampering his job search.

But when he stopped by Your Job Store for leads, that obstacle turned out to be just what qualified him for a government employment program that has given him direction for the future. Knerr, 20, is one of 131 youths trained and employed through the Erie County Summer Work Stimulus Program, which provides subsidized employment for at-risk youths ages 16-24.
