NORWALK

Justin Richmond, 19, of Norwalk was sentenced this week to two years in prison for shooting at the feet of a group of youths.

Richmond, who lived in a trailer at Rustic Hills Mobile Home in north Norwalk, got into a minor altercation on March 7 and shot at the ground near a group of youths, intending to scare them, authorities said.

"He lived down there and there was a fight over somebody else and he thought he was a tough guy," said Huron County prosecutor Russ Leffler. "We had a picture of him from a Web page where he pretended to be a gang banger."

He pleaded guilty in July to having weapons while under disability with firearm specification.

In exchange for his plea, charges of improperly discharging a firearm at a habitation, aggravated menacing and felony assault were wiped away.
