NORWALK

Black Friday could soon become a holiday in Huron County — not that county employees will be eager to celebrate it.

Citing falling sales tax revenue, Huron County commissioners said they need to shave another  $506,000 from the county budget.

To do this, commissioners are considering shortening the workweek to 36 hours for non-classified employees and getting rid of paid holidays. Commissioners also floated the idea of making the day after Thanksgiving — Black Friday — an unpaid holiday.
