A Republic man was seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash along County Road 175 in Green Creek Township this morning.

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers from the Fremont post responded to the scene at 2:40 a.m.

According to troopers, the driver, whose identity is not being released until family is notified, veered off the right side of the road in his 2001 Chevrolet truck, overcorrected and drove off the left side of the road, striking a tree.

The driver was not wearing a seatbelt, and sustained serious injuries, troopers said. He was extracted from the vehicle by Clyde Fire Department and flown to the University of Toledo Medical Center.
