The Erie County Humane Society features the following felines available for adoption:

• Schmoo is a very fun-loving 4-month-old black-and-white kitten.

• Pickle is a 3-year-old orange tiger found as a stray without a tail. He is a sweetie.

• Missy is a shy, 4-year-old gray gal who does not like other cats.

• Socks is an 8-year-old teddy bear. He's a big guy, weighing in at 20 pounds.

• Suzie and Sylvia are 3-month-old sisters who were raised in a foster home. They would love to be adopted together.

The Humane Society is located at 1911 Superior St., Sandusky. Adoption hours are 1-6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 1-4 p.m. Saturday. Normal adoption fees are: Cats/kittens $60, but through Saturday fees are waived and all cat adoptions are free. Dogs/puppies adoption fees vary. The fees include spaying/neutering and first shots if the kitten is at least 3 months old. The phone number is 419-626-6220.

The Erie County Dog Pound features the following dogs available for adoption:

• Ginger, a 2-year-old female golden retriever mix, is available now. She is housebroken, very sweet and loves everybody. She does have chewing issues, said dog warden Barb Knapp.

• Butch, a 2-year-old neutered mixed Labrador male, is available now. He is housebroken, fun and energetic.

• Spike, a 6-year-old miniature pinscher male, is available now. He is friendly, gentle and very affectionate.

• Ozzie, a 5-month-old male mixed Labrador, is available now. He is housebroken and is a large, playful pup.

• Maggie, a mixed female Labrador, is available now. She is housebroken, friendly and loveable.

• Male Jack Russell mix, 9 weeks old, is available at 10 a.m. Sunday. The dog is incredibly cute and full of energy and mischief.

The Erie County Dog Pound, 2900 Columbus Ave., Perkins Township, is open 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10-10:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Call 419-627-7607. Adopting a dog costs $30.
