The Erie County Dog Pound has these dogs available for adoption:

Curly is a 3-year-old male terrier/shepherd mix. He loves people and other dogs, dog warden Barb Knapp said. He is available now.

This 2-year-old female golden retriever-German shepherd mix is housebroken and very loveable. She is available at 3:50 p.m. today.

Sassy is a 7-year-old akita mix who is spayed and housebroken. She is sweet and mild-mannered. She would be best for families that do not have a child younger than 12. She is available now.

Baxter is a male mixed beagle. He is housebroken and a happy-go-lucky guy. He will be available at 3 p.m. Friday.

The Erie County Dog Pound, 2900 Columbus Ave., Perkins Township, is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10-10:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Call 419-627-7607. Adopting a dog costs $30.

The Erie County Humane Society features these cats and kittens available for adoption:

Ed and Fred are 1-year-old orange tiger brothers. They would like to grow up together. They are being offered at a special adoption rate of $60 for both so they can go to the same home.

Sweetie Pie is a 6-year-old gray Persian. She is a beautiful girl, with all four paws declawed.

Missy is a 4-year-old gray girl. She does not like other cats, so she wants to be the only kitty in your home.

Lillian is a 2-year-old black-and-white gal who wants to be a lap cat.

Beans is a 1 1/2-year-old blue cream female. She loves to have people pet her.

The Humane Society is at 1911 Superior St., Sandusky. Adoption hours are 1-6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 1-4 p.m. Saturday. Normal adoption fees are: Cats/kittens $60, but fees are waived for cats 3 years old or older. Dogs/puppies adoption fees vary. The fees include spaying/neutering and first shots if the kitten is at least 3 months old. The phone number is 419-626-6220.
