Walking daily at Ohio Veterans Home I have observed a complete disregard, by some people, for the geese. One was hit in front of me simply because he did not cross the road fast enough. I watched as the goose lifted his head one last time after being mutilated by the tires. It was very disturbing!

In another instance, a family of geese were hit by a vehicle. Some died and two of the young ones were taken to Back to the Wild.

I realize the geese are messy and can be a nuisance. I also know how frustrating it is to have to wait for a whole flock to cross the road.

Please don't make animals suffer because you don't like them or feel they are not of any worth. Please stop, be kind and wait patiently for the geese to cross the road at OVH or anywhere else they may be.
