I am a 17 year-old senior at Perkins High School. I attended Ohio Buckeye Boys State and am appreciative of my experience.

The camp is set up for young men about to become high school seniors to partake in a government-like experience. We literally ran the state government for Ohio in the nine days we were there.

All members were split into "cities." The other 38 members of my city, and I became very good friends and many of us have still been in contact with each other.

The whole week was a major learning experience teaching me lessons in campaigning, government work (particularly taxation because that's where I worked) and even discipline.

The support of the American Legion and all of the sponsors of Ohio Buckeye Boys State helped to make the week such a fun learning and memorable time for myself and more than 1,300 other boys in Ohio!
