There won't be a change to your mail priority after all.
The United States Postal Service proposed moving mail processing from Mansfield to Akron. Local workers -- who picketed outside the Caldwell Street post office in March -- said the consolidation would slow down mail service in the Sandusky area.
But after a study of mail processing, the Postal Service's Northern Ohio District office decided Thursday they won't move forward with the proposal. They'll keep the same mail routing process.
"This was a careful review," said Donald Marshall, district manager of the district, "and the conclusion is that there will be no significant changes made at this time."
