PERKINS TWP.

A bit of advance news about a monstrous catastrophe that’ll befall Perkins Township on Friday: At 9 a.m., a group of teenagers doing doughnuts at Briar Middle School’s parking lot will inadvertently run their car headlong into a fuel truck.

Dozens of emergency workers will respond from all corners of the local emergency management world, treating and transporting at least 20 victims suffering from broken bones, concussions, general trauma, fume inhalation and a bevy of other unfortunate fates.

The good news: Nobody dies, nobody suffers.

That’s because it’s all part of a morning-long, mass-casualty drill coordinated by the Erie County Emergency Management Agency.
