The motorcycles have been parked and Ohio Bike Week 2009 is just a memory now, but oh what a week of fun-filled events it was.
For an event that was threatened to even happen once primary sponsor Roeder Harley-Davidson suddenly closed because of financial troubles, Ohio Bike Week 2009 was a roaring success.
Now, how do we keep it going? This time it took the help from area business leaders, most notably auto dealer Bryan Kasper, and the Lake Erie Shores & Island group, to help keep scheduled events rolling along.
Next year it is going to take more of that same community spirit, regardless of what happens to Roeder’s, to keep this event growing and thriving here in Sandusky.
Let’s form a committee — something Sandusky is also becoming famous for — and start working on it right now to ensure Ohio Bike Week 2010 is bigger and better than ever.
