Michael Hamann, who graduated last week from Danbury High School, was drafted in the 24th round Wednesday afternoon by the Cleveland Indians.

Hamann was the first high school player selected by the Indians in the first-year MLB Amateur Draft.

Hamann, who went 7-2 with 116 strikeouts and a 0.27 ERA this past spring for Danbury, also has a full scholarship offer to the University of Toledo and currently pitches for the Sandusky American Legion Post 83 baseball team.
