SANDUSKY

City commissioners voted 5-2 Monday to create a new committee that will determine how to proceed with the coal tar plume. Only Dan Kaman and Dave Waddington dissented.

The decision comes just three months after the Brownfields Committee recommended the city drill three holes to find out more about the plume, and the commission agreed at that time.

The city commission made a decision Monday night after hearing a presentation about the plume from Dan Brown, one of the city's environmental consultants.
