Pat Seeholzer got to know her students pretty well in 40 years of teaching at her small school.
So although she retired three years ago, she knows the school's three graduates in the Class of 2009 very well.

The graduating students this year are Kyle Joyce, John "JP" St. Julian and Marie Mowrey.
The students chose Seeholzer as their commencement speaker, said Paul Thiede, principal at Kelley Island School.
Seeholzer said Joyce is a good student.
"He likes to laugh, have a good time. He's a good athlete. He's a lot of fun," she said.
St. Julian likes to be a prankster sometimes, but also is a good student, Seeholzer said.
"They know when to study. They know when to joke around," she said.
Mowrey is "a very nice young lady," Seeholzer said. "Quiet, but she went to school with the two boys. She could really hold her own."
Thiede said Joyce plans to attend college at BGSU Firelands, St. Julian has a job lined up and Mowrey is undecided on her future. All three went to EHOVE.
Saturday's graduation ceremony was held in the school gym.
