NORWALK

The boy who allegedly stole a neighbor’s 2003 Chevy pick-up truck and took off with a .22-caliber rifle is now in custody in Dayton, Tenn., a Rhea County dispatcher confirmed.

Dispatcher Chanda Leffew said Calvin Riley, a seventh grade student at Norwalk Catholic School, called 911 at about 7:15 p.m.

"He just told us who he was, where he was from and that he wanted to go home," Leffew said.

She would not confirm whether the boy had a weapon.

Huron County Sheriff’s deputies discovered a diary in which Riley threatened to hurt or kill several teachers and students at Norwalk Catholic Schools. School officials canceled classes today out of safety concerns.

Authorities said the boy also threatened to kill himself if anybody came after him.
