Heritage Ohio awarded Sandusky philanthropist Ruth Parker with the “Preservation Hero” Award for her dedicated work and commitment to the City of Sandusky and Sandusky Main Street Association.
“There is not anyone in the State more deserving of this award than Mrs. Parker,” said John Lippus, executive director of the Sandusky Main Street Association. “She is without a doubt one of the main supporters and contributors to the downtown preservation and revitalization effort. Many of our citizens may not be aware of her unselfish involvement, but it can be seen everywhere downtown from the museums to the theatre, to the historic waterfront buildings.”
Heritage Ohio is a statewide, not-for-profit preservation organization dedicated to encouraging and assisting people and organizations to protect, preserve and revitalize Ohio’s heritage.
