Cedar Fair reported today that it had an operating loss of $56.3 million for the first quarter ending March 29.

Company officials downplayed the results, noting that historically first quarter revenues represent less than 5 percent of the company’s full-year revenues and only four of the company’s 17 properties were in operation at the end of the first quarter.
