With a greater number of impoverished residents clamoring for their services, a pair of local poverty-fighting agencies are hoping a merger within the next eight months will expand their programs and save money.
Erie-Huron Community Action Commission in Sandusky is looking to combine its $4.6 million operation with Lorain County Community Action Agency, an organization about twice its size, said EHCAD Director Janice Warner.
“It makes good business sense,” Warner said. “We both complement each other. We can bring some of our strengths to the table and they can bring some of theirs.”
