Our president once again insulted our most reliable ally England. The Insult was big enough that if It was a republican that did it the press would be writing three stories about it every day including a front-page article on how ignorant our president is and how bad he hurt England and needs to give an apology.
The first thing he did was return a a bust of Churchill loaned to the U.S. after 9/11.
The second insult was even worse. When British Prime Minister Harold Brown came to the U.S. last week he brought a a one-of-a-kind and priceless pen, made out of a wooden British warship. The pen matched one of two desks made for the president when the ship was decommissioned. The second desk is in England still.
President Obama gave Prime Minister Brown, who is blind in one eye and going blind in the other, 15 DVDs that could be bought at a local Blockbuster -- just ordinary movies, nothing special. To make matter worse the DVDs were not in the format in use in England, so he cannot watch them in his home country. President Obama's excuse for this was he was too tired from the economic problems to think about foreign affairs.
Our press, the so-called fourth estate, needs to do its job. They need to hold all politicians, Republican and Democrats, to the same standard. This insult to our sister land is huge and thank God it wasn't done to a country in the Middle East that might have taken it worse.
The excuse that after two months of being president that he is tired is a whole different story the press should be attacking.
And then you really ask yourself why newspapers are losing readers.
