According to troopers, Joni D. Parker, 31, of Oak Harbor, was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer south on Woodrick Road at about 1:09 a.m. Saturday when she went off the right side of the roadway and struck a ditch, culvert and a utility pole. Parker was thrown from the vehicle and landed several feet away along the roadside.

The vehicle sheered the utility pole in half and entangled the SUV in power lines.

Parker suffered serious injuries and was rushed from the scene by medical helicopter to the University of Toledo Medical Center. She had not been wearing a seat belt.

The crash is still under investigation. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, according to troopers.
