The township and Sandusky County engineer Jim Moyer have been battling the Ohio Turnpike Commission for almost a decade on who's responsible for maintaining the approach slopes to township and county road bridges over the turnpike.

Soil slippage and what Moyer called poor engineering have caused the earthen slopes to erode. Township Road 226 has deteriorated to the point where it is too dangerous to pass, and the other roads, including Township Roads 224, 238, 232 and 202, are headed in the same direction.
