FLORENCE TWP.

A Lorain man and a Wakeman woman were seriously injured after the motorcycle they were riding went out of control late Friday on Butler Road in Florence Township, state troopers said.

Richard Pringle, 56, 6593 West Ridge Road, Lorain, was driving the 2009 Harley-Davidson and Cynthia J. Jenkins, 45. 5810 U.S. 20, Lot 91, was his passenger. They were riding north on Butler Road, just south of Ohio 60, at 11:07 p.m. when the Harley went off the right side of the road, then back onto the road. Both riders were thrown. Alcohol is believed to be a factor and neither rider was wearing a helmet, according to a news release from the Sandusky post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Both were taken by Citizens EMS to Lorain Community Health Partners hospital, then by ambulance to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.

The crash was still under investigation this morning, troopers said.
